"5TH REUNION OF INDIGENOUS PRIESTS AND ELDERS OF AMERICA" PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES

MARCH 19-25, 2003 MAR. 19 Arrival of all the guests at the International Airport of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.

MAR. 20 7 AM Welcome ceremony before the Father Sun and the Mother Moon as well as before all the natural laws that rule them. 8 AM Breakfast for all the participants. 9 AM Official welcoming to all the indigenous participants. As the first activity, we will inform thoroughly to all the present reporters and other media of all the items related to this event called "5TH REUNION OF INDIGENOUS PRIESTS AND ELDERS OF AMERICA". Later on we will create the work tables where the topics to be developed will be assigned. 2 PM Lunch for all the participants. Continuation of the work with the topics that were assigned to each group of this 5th Indigenous Reunion. We will talk about several aspects of the indigenous culture such as: politics, art, religion, tradition, science, law, rights, medicine, rituals, ceremonies, etc. 9 PM Dinner for all the participants.

MAR. 21 7 AM Breakfast for all the participants. 8 AM Visit to the great Mayan ceremonial center of CHICHEN ITZA where we will carry out the great ceremony of the indigenous peoples to request for the humankind's welfare and our Mother Earth's welfare, too. Here all the participants of the "5TH REUNION OF INDIGENOUS PRIESTS AND ELDERS OF AMERICA" will conjugate our spirits with the spirits of our Maya Itza ancestors to ask for the respect of our indigenous rights in the whole world. 2 PM Lunch for all the participants. Continuation of our work here in Chichen Itza. In the afternoon, we will be able to admire on one side of the Pyramid of Kukulcán the formation of 7 triangles that symbolize a snake going down to fertilize the Mother Earth, marking in this way the beginning of the Spring. 9 PM Dinner for all the participants.

MAR. 22 7 AM Breakfast for all the participants. 9 AM Continuation of the work that was assigned to all the indigenous groups on March 20th. Each group will turn in a minimum of 20 letter sized sheets expressing their global understanding, thoughts and opinions about the assigned topic. 2 PM Lunch for all the participants. 4 PM Continuation of the assigned works. In this occasion the Organizing Committee will read all the writings presented by the indigenous groups one by one. Then they will approve the way in which these works will be presented to the public opinion. 9 PM Dinner for all the participants.

MAR. 23 7 AM Breakfast for all the participants. 9 AM Visit to the Mayan ceremonial center of MAYAPAN. Here we will be able to see the Mayan stucco which shows two crisscrossed birds like a banner, the eagle and the condor representing the continental unification of America. Here in the Mayan temples of this sacred place we will carry out the farewell ceremony for all the participants in the "5TH REUNION OF INDIGENOUS PRIESTS AND ELDERS OF AMERICA". 3 PM Lunch for all the participants. Free afternoon to get some rest or to visit the beautiful city of Merida. Also if preferred, the groups can revise the work that was assigned to them during the 5th Indigenous Reunion. 9 PM Dinner for all the participants.

MAR. 24 8 AM Breakfast for all the participants. 10 AM All the groups will read the works they did for this Indigenous Congress. In this way, all the means of communication and general public, as well as the special guests will be able to find out and get acquainted of all the agreements taken during the "5TH REUNION OF INDIGENOUS PRIESTS AND ELDERS OF AMERICA". Closing ceremony in which all the indigenous groups will be able to demonstrate the traditional way they carry out their ceremonies in their indigenous community. In this way we will conclude the "5TH REUNION OF INDIGENOUS PRIESTS AND ELDERS OF AMERICA". Of course we will have already decided the next city where we will hold the "6TH REUNION OF INDIGENOUS PRIESTS AND ELDERS OF AMERICA" to be carried out in the Spring of the year 2005. 2 PM Lunch for all the participants.
